I wrote a poem specifically for the November 3rd Club journal because I really enjoy the poetry I’ve read there, and I’m all about political poetry. I actually send the poem to them during my birthday celebration in Disney World, that’s how much I wanted to have it accepted.
And it was! Hooray! The editor said the site should be updated within the next week and I’ll make sure to post the link when it’s live. The poem I wrote is called “Life Cycle of a Star” and it’s about a child bride.
I’ve only done one submission since April, and that was to the Bellevue Literary Review’s annual contest for poetry relating to the themes of health, healing, illness, the mind, and the body. Winners are going to be announced in December.
I’ve entered some poetry contests before and um, have never won, go me!
