So here it is: my poem “Life Cycle of a Star” in the final issue of The November 3rd Club. I’m glad I made it into this last issue–check out the archives, there’s a lot of good writing that’s been posted there over the past five years.
I got the idea after reading yet another article in The New York Times about a child bride in an April issue. I think Nicholas Kristof and I need to do a collaboration. One of my other poems, “America is 15 Times the Size of Afghanistan,” that was published in a political journal was inspired by a series written by Kristof. His stories really set off something inside me. I guess he is my current muse. And I guess I’ll never shake the journalism bug, it shows up in my creative work all the time.
Read the new poem and let me know what you think.
Beautifully disturbing. Good Journal. Kudos!!!
