It’s been a busy week at work. The weather in NYC sucks…but I’m feeling good. I received two acceptances this week. One journal is taking 3 of my poems and the other place was a revision. I submitted in Jan/Feb. and the editor asked for a revision of a poem and I’m glad she did! The poem is actually more powerful in its brevity now. This poem will be in a June issue and the other 3 in a September issue.
So I have to wait to see them beyond my Microsoft Word.
In the meantime one of my new routines is to check duotrope for the themes that poetry journals are doing issues on. It’s great as a writing exercise and hopefully one of my poems will be picked for the themed issues.
I love duotrope! I don’t think I can say that enough. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll propose that every time I receive an acceptance I will donate to duotrope.
Happy writing, everyone!
Congrats, lady!
Yeahyeah! Congrats! 🙂
That’s a great idea about duotrope too! Can’t wait to see your stuff in print. What are the publications?
One is a print pub called San Pedro River Review, another is an online & print pub called Breadcrumb Scabs, and the last is an online journal called Mobius: The Journal for Social Change. Woohoo!
Journal for Social change? That’s awesome!
You’ve done it once more! Incredible writing.
