…And I’ve only written 2 poems! For the 3rd year in a row I pretty much suck at this.
I always have some excuse–this year I was in Florida for the first 3 days of April basking in the heavenly rays that the East Coast has been missing. Work has been crazy busy. I have to tell you that it is hard to sit in front of a computer all day writing and then come home to do more writing.
Excuses, excuses. I’m not going to beat myself up over it. I’m just going to start anew with Day 9 and end my month on May 9th or 10th or however long it takes me to write a poem a day for 30 days.
Since I’m so focused on kidneys and I have lots of notes about this whole kidney donation process, I’m just going to focus on writing about kidneys. Probably doesn’t sound so fascinating, but believe me, this whole process of becoming a donor teaches you so much about your body (at least the kidney function of your body). I’ve also been reading about the history of kidney transplants and found out that in the past they tried to transplant kidneys from chimps and rabbits into humans! See, there’s a poem just waiting to be written about that.
And with that, I’m off to write about chimps and rabbits.
